It is important to safeguard the investment that you are making in your new and quite expensive vehicle. As equally important as the actual purchase is life after the purchase. With modern communications and transport it is very easy for individuals to import a shipping container of scooters, sell them and not concern him/herself with after sales service. The following points-particularly in regards to new scooters- may make your purchase a lasting and happy experience.
- Are you considering buying a well known brand?
- Can you confirm that the seller has a permanent and settled base of operations?
- If the retailer is only visiting your area, do you have any confidence that he/she will return to the area on a regular basis?
- Does the retailer have a workshop staffed by competent technicians?
- Otherwise, have you access to someone locally, who is competent and has some knowledge of your brand of scooter.
- Are there spare parts readily available? A serious retailer must be able to support his product.
As with most things it is easy to save a little up front, only to discover that there may be losses that far outweigh that saving in the months that follow.
